Managing a Campaign

Editing a Campaign

You can edit a campaign at any time. To do so, follow these instructions:

  1. From the management dashboard, click on the "Edit" button in the right-hand actions rail. This will take you into the campaign wizard.

  2. You can navigate through the wizard chronologically using the "Next" button or navigate directly to a section using the progress bar at the top of the wizard.

  3. Save any changes you make by navigating to the schedule section and clicking "Save".

Deleting a Campaign

From the management dashboard, you can click on the "Delete" button in the right-hand rail to delete a campaign. You will always be asked to confirm deletion.

If you delete a campaign that is currently embedded on your website, the embed will display nothing.

Copying a Campaign

From the management dashboard you can click on the "Copy" button in the right-hand rail to create a duplicate of your campaign - this new campaign will not transfer over any of the entries and it should be treated as separate. This can allow you to quickly create lots of similar campaigns that may have some crossover but differences in copy for example.

When you click copy, you will automatically be taken to the dashboard of the new "copied" campaign where all the settings/text/fields from the original campaign are preserved. You can still adjust any of the settings on a new copied campaign and it will not affect the original.

Embeds

If you paste the embed code into your site prior to your scheduled start date,a campaign countdown will appear. When the start date is reached, entries can then be accepted. When the end date is reached (if applicable) a user message informing user of campaign closure then appears.

Adding Embeds to your webpage

To add a Chimney embed to a page on your website:

  1. Visit the Embeds tab in the campaign manager.

  2. Under the section marked "Paste this code onto your webpage", click "Copy Embed Code" to automatically copy the embed code to your clipboard.

  3. Paste the embed code into your webpage where you want the embed to render.

Exporting Entries

Exports will become available once users have entered your campaign. Exports will provide you with all user details for multiple entries in CSV format.

There are 2 options for exporting data depending on the moderation status of an entry:

  • Export all entries – this option exports all user entries regardless of the moderation status.

  • Approved entries only – this option only exports the entries that have been explicitly approved in the moderation stage.

See further details on moderation in the "Moderating Entries" section.

Entries Index

The entries index contains a list of all user entries to date – displayed in reverse chronological order.

Information displayed in the index mirrors the first three form fields ordered in the campaign wizard plus the following:

  • A thumbnail of the media uploaded if UGC is enabled on the campaign.

  • Moderation status – awaiting, rejected or approved.

  • Visibility status – hidden or visible. This describes whether the entry will be publically visible in a gallery embed (gallery embeds coming soon).

  • Date of entry

To view an entry in greater detail click the "View" button in the right-hand side actions rail of an entry row. This opens a modal view with full details of the entry. See the "Entry Modal View" section of this document for more information.
